Experience the difference with 3D

3D technology is becoming increasingly well established in dental practices around the world. For more precise diagnoses and explanations of treatment: 3D X-rays offers a number of advantages. Whether for superimposed teeth, unexpected nerve canal paths, hidden roots, or temporomandibular joint anomalies, 3D images are of inestimable value for a large number of diagnoses.

With the Orthophos XG 3D and the Orthophos SL 3D from Dentsply Sirona, several hundred individual images are produced with the 3D X-ray in the space of just a few seconds. Using this data, the software generates a 3D image of the jaw section. The practitioner is able to take a "virtual tour" of the scanned volume and assess the data from every dimension.

The Facescanner in the Galileos Comfort Plus even plots a virtual "mirror image" of the patient which patients can identify with more easily than with a normal X-ray image. This enables them to better understand treatment recommendations and to accept them more readily. Consultations are more accessible and understandable for patients.

Three-dimensional radiography doesn't replace, but rather enhances 2D radiography.

What advantages does 3D X-ray technology offer?

  • Expanded diagnostic capability

Thanks to the precise imaging technique, you have additional options for diagnosing the path of jaw and facial nerves, the positional relationship between the teeth, the state of the bone, and tooth and jaw diseases.

  • Greater diagnostic accuracy

3D X-ray images ensure precise diagnostics even for special and complex initial situations. For example, the 3D X-ray image shows the tooth root from all angles and exposes hidden changes.

  • Communication with the patient

Diagnoses and treatment planning can be communicated far more easily to patients with 3D images. This enables them to better understand treatment recommendations and to accept them more readily.

  • No referral to a specialist

The improved diagnostic options allow you to perform all steps in your practice. As a rule, patients no longer have to be referred to a specialist.

  • Larger range of services

With 3D technology, you offer your patients a larger range of services and thus enhance the sustainability of your practice.

When planning with three-dimensional reconstruction, radiopaque objects, such as metals, cause metal artifacts, resulting in shadowing and streaking effects. With the MARS reconstruction software, visualization of metal artifacts is reduced in both the near- and far-field views.

High Definition Mode

500 individual images are taken in one cycle and combined in a 3D volume for less noise and higher contrast, even for complex cases. This ensures a faster and more reliable diagnosis.

With the integrated facescanner in Galileos X-ray devices, the vision of the virtual patient is coming closer: While taking the X-ray, this scanner plots a virtual "mirror image" of the patient.

Orthophos SL 3D. The complete X-ray solution for all practices.

Because the dosage counts...

As low as reasonably achievable – this is the guiding principle for radiation protection for patients around the world. The products from Dentsply Sirona combine reliable diagnostics with radiation protection – taking the requirements of the ALARA principle into account.
